A woman was injured Wednesday when her SUV was involved in a crash with a car towing a boat west on Highway 14 in Vancouver, according to the Vancouver Fire Department.

The SUV and the boat ended up in a ditch near the East Evergreen Boulevard offramp as a result of the crash, which snarled westbound traffic for an hour at 11:15 a.m.

Vancouver Fire Capt. Kevin Murray said rescuers had to use extrication tools to remove the driver of the SUV from the vehicle. She suffered injuries not believed to be life-threatening and was taken by ambulance to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center.

The driver of the car towing the boat was not hurt.

Names were not released.

Crews were on scene until about noon as the boat was removed, Murray said.
