Letter: Keep the few freedoms we have left

The Columbian
Published: June 20, 2012, 5:00pm

Some of us remember when this country was known as the “land of the free and the home of the brave.” More and more, we are losing our freedoms. Those who would deny any American the right to express themselves, in whatever manner, concerning the establishment of this proud country are unpatriotic. All too often, they forget that “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness” was, as Francis Scott Key wrote, “with bombs bursting in air.” It was time the council stand up and protect our freedoms.

Just say “no” to those who want to change our traditions and take away our freedoms.
