OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Oklahoma City Thunder coach Scott Brooks says he hopes to meet with team chairman Clay Bennett and general manager Sam Presti in “the next couple of days” to discuss a new contract.

Brooks pointed out Saturday that no one has had down time since training camp started in early December, following the lockout that condensed the season.

Brooks’ deal is set to expire at the end of the month, and time has run out quickly with the Thunder making it all the way to the NBA Finals before losing to the Miami Heat in five games.

Under Brooks, the Thunder have improved every season. They won 23 games their first season in Oklahoma City, lost in the first round of the playoffs the next year and then were defeated in the Western Conference finals.
