Washougal police and firefighters are investigating a small arson spree reported on H Street in Washougal.

Three curbside recycle bins were set on fire sometime between 2 a.m. and 4 a.m. Monday, said Washougal Police Chief Ron Mitchell. One of the bins was in front of a church and the other two were in front of homes, he said.

There was no property damage.

Firefighters couldn’t determine the ignition source, said Ron Schumacher, deputy chief of fire prevention and fire marshal for the Camas-Washougal Fire Department. He said two bins were partially melted. The other was destroyed.

If anyone has any information on the fires they are asked to call the Camas-Washougal Fire Department at 835-2211 or 911.
