Supervised play offered at local parks

Vancouver-Clark Parks and Recreation’s Summer Playgrounds program will be at eight neighborhood parks this year.

The program, which is free, started Monday and runs through Aug. 9.

The supervised program is designed for children ages 5 through 12, but younger kids with a parent or other caregiver are welcome.

From 10 a.m. to noon on Mondays and Wednesdays, the program will be at Brickyard Park on Lincoln Avenue between 31st and 32nd Place and at Oak Brook Park, 3103 N.E. 99th St.

From 1 to 3 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays, the program will be at Washington School Park, 2908 S St., and Ellsworth School Park, 512 S.E. Ellsworth Road. From 10 a.m. to noon Tuesdays and Thursdays, the program will be at Meadow Home Park, 4500 E. 18th St., and Burnt Bridge Creek Park, 14619 N.E. 49th St. From 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, the program will be at St. Helens Park, 4007 E. 13th St., and Hearthwood Park, 801 N.E. Hearthwood Blvd.
