Letter: Study prerequisites for top office

Presidential candidates with business experience are the one and only kind to elect? Question: Are presidential candidates who believe in war, even if it breaks the bank, more patriotic than those believing in diplomacy?

The last two presidents with business backgrounds were Herbert Hoover and George W. Bush. One is noted for the Great Depression. The other? Billions in nonbudgeted war costs and creating a boon for the pharmaceutical industry compliments of the taxpayers of the U.S.A. and the help of the “bank of China.” Thanks, Bubba.

Lest we forget, the removal of the prescription drugs doughnut hole and stopping denial of health care for pre-existing conditions, among other things, will be gone with any potential repeal of “Obamacare.” No problem. There’s a better world coming. Really? Even better than the eight years before the 2008 election, nonenforcement of regulations will be replaced by, well, no regulations. Wall Street will once more become an engine of commerce for us all. So many jobs will be created. And as before, they will be for maids, nannies, au pairs (look it up), gardeners, chauffeurs, and poorly paid foreign laborers. Voila! Wait a minute! What’s with them foreign words?
