Letter: Veteran's sacrifice is heroic
Saturday, June 30, 2012
A June 25 Columbian story, "Wounded Oregon veteran fights his way back: He's walking now after being initially paralyzed from injury to spine," reported on Cody Smith, an Afghanistan War veteran. Smith is my hero. Our country owes Smith and others like him a deep debt of thanks and gratitude that we can never pay.
God bless him for his sacrifice for our freedoms and way of life that we so enjoy here in America. Freedoms that must never be taken for granted. I am praying for his complete recovery and thank him from the bottom of my heart. I am so proud of him.
