NOTTINGHAM, England (AP) — Lucian Bute will make a 10th defense of his IBF super middleweight title on May 26 against former WBC champion Carl Froch.
The unbeaten Canada-based Romanian will take on Froch in the challenger’s hometown of Nottingham, England.
The fight will be Bute’s first outside of North America or Romania in 21 career bouts.
Bute has defended his IBF title nine times since defeating Colombia’s Alejandro Berrio in 2007 and says “it will not faze me fighting in enemy territory.”
Froch has not fought in Nottingham since defeating Andre Dirrell in 2009.
