Campground reservations accepted for Lewis River parks

ARIEL — Campground reservations at PacifiCorp’s Cresap Bay and Cougar Camp parks along the North Fork of the Lewis River will be accepted starting Thursday.

The company’s new recreation reservation line is 855-414-0004.

The line will operate from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays. Pacific’s other parks are available on a first-come basis.

Individual camping sites at Cresap Bay, Cougar and Beaver Bay cost $20 per night. Swift Forest Camp costs $17 per night.

Beaver Bay is at the upper end of Yale Reservoir.

No parking fees are charged at Pacific’s day-use parks except a $3 charge on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from Memorial Day weekend to Sept. 15. Parking at Merwin Park is always $1.

Summer passes are available for $20. The summer pass can be bought at the Woodland Information Center or at the fee booths during hours the booths are staffed.

An application form for the summer pass can be obtained at www.lewisriver.com. The application form can be mailed to: Recreation Department, PacifiCorp, 825 N.E. Multnomah, Portland, Ore., 97232.

Cresap Bay will be open from May 25 through Sept. 30. Cougar will be open from May 25 through Labor Day.

Beaver Bay will be open from April 28 through Sept. 30.

Swift Forest Camp will be open from April 28 through the end of the late deer season in mid-November.
