ASHLAND, Ore. (AP) — A teenager from Saudi Arabia has been indicted in Southern Oregon on charges from a low-speed police chase that came two days before he was involved in a disturbance that caused a jetliner crew to cut short a flight from Portland to Houston.

The Ashland Daily Tidings reported Thursday (http://bit.ly/xNLqLn ) that 19-year-old Yazeed Abunayyan (ah-boo-NYE-an) faces multiple charges as a result of the 20-minute chase Feb. 19.

They include driving under the influence and violating his bail agreement by getting on the flight to leave Oregon.

Prosecutors say the local charges are on hold until federal charges of interfering with a flight crew are resolved. A trial on those charges has been set for April.

A relative says Abunayyan suffers from schizophrenia and wasn’t taking his medication.
