SEATTLE (AP) -- A wrong-way driver may have driven two or more miles into opposing traffic on Interstate 90 and Interstate 5 before he collided with another vehicle about 3:30 a.m. Friday in downtown Seattle.
Washington State Patrol Lt. Debby Jacobson says the wrong-way driver, a 21-year-old man from Kenmore, was critically injured in the crash. A woman driving the other car was taken to a hospital as a precaution and is expected to be OK.
Jacobson says the wrong-way driver swerved at the last second into the oncoming vehicle.
KIRO-FM reports (http://is.gd/NY6FBE ) this is at least the eighth wrong-way collision in the Seattle area since Christmas.
