ONTARIO, Ore. (AP) — An Eastern Oregon couple have been arraigned on attempted murder charges in the shooting of the father of their grandchild.
Malheur County District Attorney Dan Norris told the Ontario Argus Observer (http://bit.ly/Ahrwtz ) that police had previously been involved in custody disputes involving the child 19-year-old Ramon Fry was leaving at the couple’s home Wednesday after a visitation.
The accused are 61-year-old Lester Earl Reger and 50-year-old Erlene Kay Reger of Ontario. He was held Thursday on $500,000 bond. She was released on $50,000 bail.
Fry, from Garden Valley, Idaho, was hospitalized and expected to survive. Norris said he was shot in the back of the head and in the abdomen. He said the shots were fired in the Regers’ garage.
