Letter: Transportation bill is good planning

I am writing in response to Lynn Krogseng’s Feb. 21 letter, “Livability is a Clark County priority,” regarding Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler’s support of the U.S. House transportation bill. The bill does not block funding for local programs, projects and safety, as stated. The federal tax money would go directly to the state of Washington for local projects. Gov. Chris Gregoire can then invest in local projects. If Congress does not come up with a plan, there will not be any federal money for transportation projects.

I applaud Herrera Beutler for finding a solution to fund Clark County highways, bike paths and other local projects.
