Brighton West, producer and director of Vancouvria joined The Columbian for a live chat today. Check back soon for a chat transcript or visit the chat page for a replay.

West, a Portland resident, produces humorous short documentary and narrative films. He recently made a splash here with Vancouvria, a parody of the hit TV show Portlandia starring Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein.

During the one-hour chat, we discussed how West created Vancouvria and what to expect in future episodes.

West has directed and produced a total of four Vancouvria episodes that average 2.5 minutes long. The first episode received more than 120,000 pageviews and 400 subscribers on YouTube. West started adding short narratives on Youtube in 2006 and the first episode of Vancouvria appeared on Jan. 15.
