JOINT BASE LEWIS-MCCHORD, Wash. (AP) -- Military police have released a soldier who was detained earlier Friday after he said he had an explosive device in his parked car at Joint Base Lewis-McChord.
The base says it treated the incident as a threat until the soldier explained the device was a training aid.
A bomb squad examined the device, found no explosives and determined it was not a threat.
