GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) — Patrick Mitchell’s basket at the buzzer gave North Dakota a 57-56 win over Utah Valley on Saturday, snapping the Wolverines’ winning streak at 13 games.

Troy Huff had 14 points and nine rebounds for the Fighting Sioux (15-14, 6-4 Great West) and Brandon Brekke scored 11 points. But it was Mitchell who hit the winning basket after Utah Valley’s Ben Aird came up with a three-point play with 7.8 seconds remaining, putting the Wolverines ahead for the first time since early in the second half. Neither team led by more than seven points.

North Dakota has won four in a row and clinched the No. 2 seed in the conference tournament next weekend in Chicago.

Utah Valley (20-11, 9-1), which hadn’t lost since Jan. 3, already wrapped up the Great West title. Aird led the Wolverines with 14 points and Geddes Robinson had 11 points and nine rebounds.
