Elderly man dies in Milwaukie house fire

MILWAUKIE, Ore. (AP) -- Neighbors tried but couldn't rescue a man from a fire at the home where he had lived nearly 60 years.
Clackamas Fire District 1 also says firefighters weren't able to find the man right away in the Sunday evening fire. The Oregonian says 91-year-old Jim Saltos was eventually found dead of smoke inhalation.
Investigators said Monday the fire was accidental and caused by a wood stove.
Damage is estimated at $70,000.
