SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) -- Police say the shooting of a man and a girl Sunday night in Spokane was gang-related, and the shooter is still at large.
Spokeswoman Jennifer DeRuwe says the man was the intended target. He was standing in a yard when he was hit. She says a bullet went into a house and wounded the girl.
Police describe the wounds as serious and say the two are in serious condition at a hospital.
The fire department said the man is 23 and the girl is 6.
Police shut down roads in the lower South Hill neighborhood, checked houses and searched with a police dog. The Spokane gang and major crimes police teams are investigating.
DeRuwe says detectives are withholding details while the shooter is at large.
