CORVALLIS, Ore. (AP) — Oregon State University has set a new goal for its current fundraising campaign — $1 billion.
The Register-Guard reports (http://is.gd/kLNF4n) the four-year Campaign for OSU has already raised $794 million. The Corvallis university hopes to top the billion dollar mark by 2014.
President Edward Ray says a goal of $1 billion was unimaginable when the campaign began, but now it’s within reach, thanks to dedicated supporters.
The money pays for scholarships, faculty endowments and major construction projects.
