Car fleeing trooper crashes in Eugene, 4 injured

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) -- Oregon State Police say four people were injured early Wednesday when a car fleeing a trooper collided with a pickup truck at an intersection in Eugene.

A Eugene police vehicle that was not involved in the chase was also hit.

State police say a car that was originally pulled over for speeding more than 100 mph took off again about 12:30 a.m., running red lights until it broadsided the pickup. A man and woman in the truck were ejected and seriously injured. The driver of the fleeing car also was injured, and a Eugene officer had minor injuries. All were taken to Sacred heart medical Center at RiverBend.

Eugene police are investigating.
