Kirkland council may crack down on boat parties



KIRKLAND, Wash. (AP) — The Kirkland City Council is considering an ordinance Tuesday that may crack down on noisy boat parties.

The ordinance would ban the practice of rafting or linking more than two boats together.

Kirkland Police Lt. John Ashlip told KIRO-FM ( ) sometimes in the summer on Juanita Bay dozens of boats congregate and tie together with a lot of drinking and loud stereos late into the night.

The new law would also restrict sound from audio systems.
