Letter: Hold tight to freedoms

Published:

In his Feb. 29 column, “State lawmakers should say N-O to NRA license plates,” Peter Callaghan’s bias toward the National Rifle Association and anything or anyone that is associated with or favors the NRA in any way subliminally illustrates the willingness of too many Americans to surrender or abrogate our freedoms as written in our Constitution.

The right to bear arms, as the Second Amendment guarantees, and other freedoms, such as states’ rights, are under attack by the officials tasked with and sworn to protecting and supporting the Constitution.

Callaghan’s commentary is simple fodder for those who have no knowledge of our Constitution, history and the value of our freedoms. .

Sadly, America won’t realize how great our freedoms are until they are gone.
