Deputies on Wednesday morning responded to reports of a shooting in the area near Washougal River Road in Skamania County.

Deputies responded to 391 Harder Road in Washougal around 10:45 a.m. after someone reported finding a bullet in a bedroom, said Undersheriff Dave Cox of the Skamania County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies found a bullet hole through the bedroom wall. It appeared to ricochet off the ground outside, through an outside wall of the home and hit the opposite indoor bedroom wall near the ceiling, Cox said in a release.

There were no reported injuries.

“At this time, we have no reason to believe that this was intentional in nature in any way,” Cox said. “We will be continuing with the investigation to determine a possible explanation as to why the bullet found its way to this residence.”

Anyone with information is asked to call the Skamania County Sheriff’s Office at 509-427-9490.
