Letter: Officials: focus on top priorities

The Columbian
Published: March 7, 2012, 4:00pm

Thanks to County Commissioner Marc Boldt for outlining the top priorities of Clark County in 2012 during the recent State of the County address. Those priorities include a balanced budget, jobs, reasonable stormwater regulations and basic human services. This is indeed a refreshing contrast to Gov. Chris Gregoire and several state representatives (U.S. Sen. Patty Murray, D-Wash., and state Rep. Jim Moeller, D-Vancouver) who improperly subordinate their primary responsibilities of developing a balanced state budget and creating a competitive employment environment to support gay marriage. What is perhaps more disappointing is the use of their elected position to promote a personal political agenda.
