A candelight vigil will be held at Cascade Middle School 7 p.m. Wednesday for a young girl who died earlier this week.

School officials were informed on Wednesday morning that Eden Van Horn had died unexpectedly. The 14-year-old had attended her eighth-grade classes the day before.

Information about the cause of death was not released.

Counselors immediately were made available that day and Thursday, said district spokeswoman Carol Fenstermacher.

A letter was sent home with kids Tuesday to notify parents of the student’s death.
