TACOMA, Wash. (AP) — A Pierce County corrections officer has been charged with bigamy.
Prosecutors say Alan L. O’Neill married a woman in 2001, moved out in 2009, changed his name and remarried without divorcing wife No. 1.
The 41-year-old is due in court March 22 to answer the charge. He was placed on administrative leave after prosecutors charged him Thursday.
Pierce County Prosecutor Mark Lindquist told The News Tribune (http://is.gd/cRE9Mf ) the first wife found out about wife No. 2 when Facebook suggested she “friend” the other woman because of their connection to O’Neill.
