KELSO, Wash. (AP) — Fire officials in Kelso, Wash., say a strong crosswind overturned a single-engine plane as it was landing. The pilot was the only person aboard and was unhurt.

Cowlitz 2 Fire and Rescue Assistant Chief Alan Headley said the pilot encountered the wind Thursday afternoon as he tried to land at Southwest Washington Regional Airport. The plane ended up on its roof.

The pilot was identified as Dave Bowden of Woodland.

The plane suffered minor damage.
