Letter: Disorganized caucus disappointing

The Columbian

Never before witnessing a political caucus, I expected a very business-like moving-right-along style of meeting. At first glance, the March 3 Republican presidential precinct caucus appeared very unorganized with no direction. I believe a microphone must have been in charge. There was never a person to be seen talking to the microphone.

I believe if the Republican Party is in disarray, the caucus I attended was showing the why:

  1. No visible leadership or direction.

  2. No name tags.

  3. No written agenda of any kind.

I would suggest future voter registration cards have a modern bar code to input at the entrance followed by a quick print of agenda and directions or map of immediate layout for caucus.

I have to wonder why delegates are required if the media reported correctly that Mitt Romney won the caucus before anything happened in Olympia.

So why does anything have to happen in Olympia?
