Orioles LF Nolan Reimold hit in head with pitch



PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. (AP) — Baltimore Orioles left fielder Nolan Reimold has been taken to a hospital after being hit in the side of the head by a pitch from Tampa Bay Rays right-hander Alex Cobb in the first inning Friday.

Batting fifth, Reimold immediately dropped to the ground and was face down for several minutes hushed Charlotte Sports Park crowd looked on as Orioles trainers tended to the 28-year-old.

Reimold eventually flipped over and stood up on his own power before he was carted off the field and taken to Peace River Hospital.
