Chinese skiers dominate WCup aerials event

MOSCOW (AP) — Jia Zongyang won the men’s freestyle aerials World Cup event on an artificial ramp, while Kong Fanyu led the Chinese sweep in the women’s competition on Saturday.

Jia Zongyang scored 124.89 points for his jump to claim his third World Cup win this season, followed by Denis Osipau of Belarus with 116.06. World Cup aerials leader Olivier Rochon of Canada made a mistake on landing and finished third with 114.39.

Kong Fanyu performed an almost clean jump and got 96.05 to claim her first career World Cup win.

World Cup leader Xu Mengtao scored 94.29 points for second, and Cheng Shuang was third with 90.41.

The final World Cup freestyle meet is scheduled for March 17 in Myrkdalen-Voss, Norway.
