World Cup downhill training canceled due to rain
Sunday, March 11, 2012
SCHLADMING, Austria (AP) -- Organizers have canceled Monday's first training session for the women's downhill at the World Cup finals after rain softened snow on the lower section of the hill.
As forecasts showed no change of weather for the day, the race jury called the session off in order to avoid possible damage to the Streicher course.
Training sessions for women and men are scheduled for Tuesday, followed by both races on Wednesday.
