COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) — USA Cycling will be sending the women’s pursuit team that took silver at last year’s world championship to the 2012 worlds next month in Melbourne, Australia.

The trio of Dotsie Bausch, Sarah Hammer and Jennie Reed will be joined by Lauren Tamayo in the event, which has been added to the program for the London Olympics.

Hammer also has qualified for the omnium, where she finished second to Canada’s Tara Whitten last year. Jennifer Valente will contest the scratch race and Cari Higgins the points race.

Bobby Lea will contest the men’s omnium and Matthew Lipscomb will start the points race. A combination of Michael Blatchford, Kevin Mansker and Jimmy Watkins has been chosen to compete in the team sprint and individual sprint races.

The world championships are April 4-8 at Hisense Arena.
