PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — A man wounded in a shootout with officers Tuesday night in Portland was not one of the suspects they were looking for in connection with a gang shooting Sunday.

Police say they were approaching a suspect’s house in north Portland with a Washington County sheriff’s team when they were confronted by a 31-year-old man with a handgun from another location. He was wounded in an exchange of gunfire and was last reported in serious condition. No officers were injured.

Officers continued to their target house and arrested 20-year-old Anthon Bagsby. He was booked into the Multnomah County Jail for investigation of attempted murder, assault and robbery in connection with Sunday’s incident in which another 20-year-old was wounded.

Officers also arrested a 16-year-old suspect on similar charges at a nearby residence.
