FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) — Arkansas coach Bobby Petrino says senior linebacker Alonzo Highsmith will miss spring practice after injuring his left pectoral muscle.

Highsmith is the top returning linebacker for the Razorbacks, who were 11-2 last season and defeated Kansas State in the Cotton Bowl. He transferred to Arkansas before last season from a junior college.

Highsmith started all 13 games for the Razorbacks last season and had 80 tackles, including 12.5 for losses. He also had 4.5 sacks.

The Razorbacks opened spring practice on Wednesday and will close out the series of 15 practices with its spring game on April 21.
