Heritage student named Marshall Leadership Youth Award recipient

Heritage — Zachary Hall, a senior at Heritage High School, has been named the recipient of the 2012 George C. Marshall Youth Leadership Award presented by the 40 et 8, Voiture 99. The award is a program of the Fort Vancouver National Trust. Hall, who will be recognized at a public ceremony March 21 at the Marshall House, will receive a $2,500 college scholarship, a $500 paid summer internship with the Fort Vancouver National Trust and opportunities to participate in Celebrate Freedom events including Independence Day at Fort Vancouver. Chelinda Dettorre, a counselor at Heritage High School, wrote in Hall’s nomination: “He is dedicated to making a difference in his nation and local community and to eventually train others in life skills.” The selection committee received 28 nominations from 12 Clark County high schools.
