ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) — Denard Robinson says he’s planning on being an NFL quarterback.
The dynamic Michigan QB can start taking more steps toward his goal when the Wolverines start spring practice on Saturday. Offensive coordinator Al Borges says if Robinson can improve as a passer, an NFL team will take a chance on him just as the Denver Broncos did with Tim Tebow.
Robinson connected on 55 percent of his passes last season — down from 63 percent from the previous year — with 20 touchdown passes and 15 interceptions. He ran for 1,176 yards and 16 touchdowns.
The speedy quarterback with an inconsistent arm helped Michigan win 11 games, including the Sugar Bowl, in Brady Hoke’s debut as coach.
