Letter: Cheers to bipartisan efforts

Hooray for U.S. Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler, R-Camas, whose first legislation, named the “Small Business Opportunity Act of 2012,” made it through a congressional committee. And equally important is that it was a bill that was sponsored by Herrera Beutler and Oregon Democrat Kurt Schrader.

They are to be commended for stepping up to help small businesses compete for federal contracts. And I applaud them both for working together on this important legislation. There is hope yet for bipartisan working relationships in Washington, D.C.

I am so impressed by her hard work, her dedication to serving the people of Southwest Washington, as well as her consistent communication with all of us. Keep up the good work.
