Raiders to meet with CB Bartell, OL Brisiel

ALAMEDA, Calif. (AP) — The Oakland Raiders are meeting with free agent offensive lineman Mike Brisiel and cornerback Ron Bartell.

Brisiel’s agent, Jeff Sperbeck, says his client will meet with the Raiders later Thursday. Brisiel started 13 games at guard last season for Houston, where he played for new Oakland offensive coordinator Greg Knapp and offensive line coach Frank Pollack. The Raiders released starting right guard Cooper Carlisle on Wednesday.

A person familiar with the process says Bartell will also meet soon with the Raiders. Bartell was St. Louis’ top cornerback most of his seven seasons there, but missed virtually all of 2011 after sustaining two neck fractures in the opener. Oakland has already released starting cornerbacks Stanford Routt and Chris Johnson.
