Bridge crews will close two southbound lanes of the Interstate 5 Bridge for two nights this weekend, possibly causing delays for drivers heading from Vancouver to Portland. The closures will start as early as 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday night, and continue until 6 a.m. the following mornings, according to the Oregon Department of Transportation.

Crews will close lanes to work on traffic cameras and striping on the southbound span. Friday night’s work will close the left and center lanes. On Saturday, crews will close the center and right lanes — which also shuts down the ramp from state Highway 14 to I-5 south. Drivers will instead have to take I-5 northbound, then turn around at the Mill Plain Boulevard exit.

During the work, crews will close one lane at first, then another later in the evening when traffic volumes are lower. Motorists should expect delays both Friday and Saturday night.
