Thursday, March 15, 2012
Just before 3 p.m. Thursday, a woman called 911 to report that another woman demanded her purse and held a knife to her abdomen in the parking lot of the Goodwill store at 9025 N.E. 117th Ave. in the Orchards area.
The victim said she fought off the attacker, who fled in a tan 1980s sports car with a loud exhaust, according to a bulletin from the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.
She did not report being injured.
After the attempted robbery, the victim worked with sheriff’s deputies with the Tactical Detective Unit, the bulletin said. She identified a possible suspect in a review of several women’s photos.
By Thursday night, detectives had detained a suspect and were interviewing her, the bulletin said.
Names of the victim and suspect were not immediately released.
