Two Camas restaurants are joining next week’s celebration of breast reconstruction rights.

The Vancouver City Council proclaimed March 21 as the first BRAVE Day, which stands for Breast Reconstruction Advocacy Victory Event. The Clark County Board of Commissioners will make a similar proclamation on March 20.

The nonprofit Pink Lemonade Project and Dr. Allen Gabriel, chief of plastic surgery for PeaceHealth Medical Group, proposed BRAVE Day as a way to raise awareness about breast reconstruction rights.

Roots Restaurant and Bar, 19215 S.E. 34th St., and 360 Pizzeria, 3425 S.E. 192nd Ave., are teaming up with the Pink Lemonade Project to help raise awareness.

The restaurants will serve special “Spiked Pink Lemonade” drinks with complimentary pink bracelets supporting the cause on March 21. All proceeds from the drink will go to the Pink Lemonade Project.

Non-alcoholic versions will be available as well.

The Pink Lemonade Project provides breast cancer patients retreats, education programs and support opportunities.
