Ridgefield council appoints interim city manager

The Ridgefield City Council appointed a Vancouver financial consultant as its interim city manager during a special meeting Thursday night.

Paul Lewis will begin work with the city Monday and take over city manager duties Sunday, April 1. Longtime city manager Justin Clary’s last day is March 30.

Clary is leaving to work for environmental consulting firm Maul Foster Alongi after nearly eight years with the city of Ridgefield.

Lewis is the sole owner of Financial & Management Consulting in Vancouver. He has served as Vancouver’s finance director from 1999 to 2004, interim assistant city manager for Vancouver from November 2010 to March 2011 and provided support to Vancouver, Camas and Washougal, according to Ridgefield city officials.

There is no immediate timeline for Ridgefield’s search for a full-time city manager. The financial terms of Lewis’ agreement were not immediately known.
