Kurt Busch hoping to snap streak of bad luck

BRISTOL, Tenn. (AP) — It’s been a rough start to the season for Kurt Busch.

He’s wrecked in two of the first three Sprint Cup Series races, and goes into Sunday’s race at Bristol Motor Speedway ranked 29th in the standings.

It’s the lowest Busch has been in points a month into the season since his 2001 rookie year.

But he says he and his Phoenix Racing team have to keep their heads down and keep working hard.

Still, Busch believes he’s being plagued by a horrendous streak of bad luck that has taunted him since he reported to Daytona last month. He’s had a strange list of bad breaks spoil just about every run.

The most bizarre incident? Busch hit a bird in the final practice before the Daytona 500.
