Letter: Objective should be to end war

The Columbian

The latest killings of Afghan citizens are just part of thousands that have taken place in countries we try to dominate.

As a member of the Korean Veterans for Peace, my family and I have argued for years to stop wars and bring our troops home, starting with Korea, where we have had troops guarding its border for 60 years, costing billions of dollars.

We killed thousands of Korean civilians with our bombs but we were told its OK as they are casualties of war.

It’s the same with Vietnam and all wars. We were taught to hate and kill communists just like our government taught great-grandpa to hate and kill Native Americans.

When will it stop?
