EVERETT, Wash. (AP) — A Boeing worker injured in an accident at the company’s Everett, Wash., facility has been transferred to a Seattle hospital.

The Everett Fire Department responded after Boeing emergency medical crews rescued the unidentified man Monday night. The Daily Herald of Everett says he was trapped between two parts of a 747 wing. He was hospitalized at Harborview Medical Center on Tuesday.

Boeing spokesman Jim Proulx (Proo) says the company is investigating the cause of the accident.

KING-TV reports the Machinists’ Union and the state Department of Labor and Industries are also investigating.

In early February, another Boeing worker was seriously hurt when he was trapped beneath the tires of a Boeing 787 being moved between two Boeing facilities at Everett’s Paine Field. Labor and Industries says an accident report on that case is not yet final.
