Michigan State, Oregon football to play in 2014-15

EAST LANSING, Mich. (AP) — Michigan State and Oregon will play a home-and-home football series in 2014 and 2015.

The Spartans announced the two-game deal Tuesday. The series begins Sept. 13, 2014, at Oregon. The teams will also meet in East Lansing on Sept. 12, 2015.

Oregon replaces West Virginia on Michigan State’s 2014 and 2015 schedules. Michigan State says the Mountaineers opted out of that contract to create more flexibility during their transition from the Big East to the Big 12.

Michigan State and Oregon have faced each other four times, with each team winning twice. In the most recent meeting, Michigan State won 27-20 in East Lansing in 1999.
