SEATTLE (AP) — King County prosecutors say a 17-year-old accused of fatally stabbing another teen at a friend’s Tukwila, Wash., apartment has been charged as an adult with second-degree murder.

Prosecutors say Kolby Clark of Tukwila strangled and stabbed 17-year-old Jasmyn Tully of SeaTac early Saturday morning. Tully later died at a hospital.

Clark was charged Tuesday. He’s held on $1 million bail, with arraignment set for April 2. If convicted, he faces a sentence range of 12 to 20 years.

Police say they found Clark wandering nearby streets with a gash in his arm. Tukwila police Sgt. Mark Dunlap says Clark told detectives that he attacked and stabbed the girl. Dunlap says Clark led detectives to the area where he discarded the knife and they recovered a weapon.

Despite an uncle’s claim that Clark had smoked synthetic marijuana, police and prosecutors say there’s no evidence to link such drug use to the homicide.
