Letter: Resistance to new law still active

With the recent signing of the same-sex marriage bill into law by Gov. Chris Gregoire, some might have the impression that this is the end of the matter. Not so fast. There are plenty of us who vigorously oppose this ill-gotten law on several fronts.

Traditional marriage is the fundamental unit of society, the foundation of a strong nation and a vital sociological and cultural institution proved by the test of time. The scriptures teach that marriage between a man and a woman is ordained of God and that the family is central to the Creator’s plan for the eternal destiny of His children. The counterfeit alternative of gay marriage can never lead to the completeness made possible through the sealing of a man and woman and the joy of a posterity.

For those who hold to the sanctity of marriage, the family and protection of children, add your names to the referendum available online at http://truthandmarriage.com before the June 8 deadline. Let’s unite to repeal this unsavory law on the November ballot.
