Winter may be lifting its hold on Clark County after snow piled up in places Wednesday night into Thursday.

The National Weather Service in Portland says snow should switch to rain by 11 a.m. The snow level is expected to jump to 1,200 feet during the day, with a high of 42 degrees.

Clark County should start seeing more typical spring weather starting Friday when the high is expected to be 50 degrees.

Snow on Thursday caused several local schools to open two hours late. There were also reports of downed tree limbs and a handful of small power outages.
