Letter: Free speech is still a free choice

I agree with Toni Jacobson’s statement in her March 16 letter, “No excuse for Limbaugh’s rhetoric,” that no one should “have to listen to a radio talk show host” like Rush Limbaugh. If one does not accept Limbaugh’s apology, you turn him off or change stations.

As a responsible and free American, this is what I have chosen to do with Ed Schultz, Chris Mathews, David Letterman, Bill Maher, Mike Malloy, and many others who continue to say vile and derogatory things about not only women, but anyone who disagrees with them. I will not, however, attempt to boycott their sponsors or seek to have them removed from the airwaves. At this point, free speech is still a right for all, and each of us should seek the truth.
